SoftNAS Names Garry Olah as CEO, Vic Mahadevan to Board of Directors

Experienced storage executives add strong leadership background and a deep understanding of the market dynamics and opportunities to grow cloud data platform business

HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–SoftNAS®, a leading cloud data platform for business-critical applications, today announced that Garry Olah will join the company as president and chief executive officer. Olah brings more than twenty years of experience in the software industry, having played key roles in both startups and large corporations, as well as in the growth of many innovative technology companies as an advisor. In addition to Olah, the company also today announced that former NetApp® chief strategy officer Vic Mahadevan will join the board of directors as chairman.

Known for his expertise building cloud partner sales models and creating momentum for growth, Olah’s broad areas of expertise include business development, alliance building, sales, marketing and disruptive tech. Prior to SoftNAS, Olah was both a partner at Prime Foray and founder and managing partner of Vedify where he was responsible for advising companies focused on enterprise cloud, SaaS and mobility. His guidance helped several companies position for partnership and expand their market footprint, coordinating the objectives of a venture with small, mid and large cap businesses.

Vedify drove clients to positive results, assisting Quest on strategy through the $2B+ “go private” efforts, ScaleExtreme (Acquired by Citrix), BlueStacks, Apprenda, Lookout and others. Olah held VP of Business Development positions at GoodData, Coho Data, Apprenda and Citrix and has served on various industry boards, including as a six-year member of the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), Software Division where he was Chairman.

Vic Mahadevan is CEO of Dev Solutions Inc., a consultancy to technology startups. Prior to Dev Solutions, Mahadevan served as chief strategy officer for NetApp. In this position, he was responsible for leading NetApp’s business strategy and identifying additional market and product opportunities to fuel future growth. Mahadevan was also responsible for driving strategic planning, managing acquisitions and supporting NetApp’s strategic alliances and partnership teams. Before NetApp, he held a number of executive leadership positions including VP of marketing for LSI Corporation, CEO of NeoEdge Networks, VP/GM of BMC Software’s Storage Management Business Unit and VP/GM of Compaq’s Storage Business Unit. Mahadevan holds an MBA in marketing and MS in engineering from the University of Iowa, as well as a degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.
