Customers benefit from unified storage solution for disparate data systems without any hardware or application changes

HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–SoftNAS®, the #1 best-selling software-defined NAS in the cloud, today announced participation in the NetApp Alliance Partner Program. SoftNAS is collaborating with NetApp to provide a unique, software-based file services solution with SoftNAS Cloud NAS that runs on top of NetApp StorageGRID Webscale object storage for a unified file and object storage solution.

“SoftNAS is software-based for immediate deployment, works across cloud platforms and protocols without sacrificing full enterprise NAS functionality.”

By integrating the SoftNAS and NetApp StorageGRID Webscale object storage solutions, customers can leverage the unlimited scalability and cost advantages of object storage, making a unified storage solution easier to access. This collaboration provides increased scalability and durability for file services when used with low cost object storage–without additional storage hardware, application modification or changed workflows.

Customers need a way for object storage to fit with their existing application infrastructure and fully-integrate with all existing IT systems, applications and users. Our joint solutions create a way for storage to be accessed by the systems that require NFS, CIFS/SMB with Active Directory integration, FTP, AFP (Apple File Protocol) and iSCSI block access.

“As enterprises generate petabytes of data, business environments need instant integration between existing storage infrastructures and object storage,” said Rick Braddy, CEO and CTO of SoftNAS. “SoftNAS is software-based for immediate deployment, works across cloud platforms and protocols without sacrificing full enterprise NAS functionality.”

The combination of SoftNAS Cloud NAS for files services with NetApp StorageGRID Webscale object storage solutions empower customers to leverage the power of expansive object storage while continuing to service the requirements of active file-based applications.
